3 Things to Know Before Planning Your Trip to Jamaica

1. Going To Jamaica

Airports: There are two international airports in Jamaica: Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay and Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston. When booking with All Inclusive Outlet you should select Montego Bay as your arrival airport as resort transfers from Kingston are unavailable.

Entry Requirements: All US travelers need a valid passport to enter and exit Jamaica. Tourist visas are NOT required for US citizens for stays under 90 days. Non-U.S. citizens and foreign residents should check with the appropriate government authorities for passport and visa requirements prior to departure. Vaccinations are only required if you are traveling from a country with a high risk of yellow fever. For up-to-date travel information visit https://travel.state.gov/ or http://www.congenjamaica-ny.org

Club Mobay Airport Lounge: Flying into or out of Montego Bay International Airport (MBJ) is even better with Club Mobay. This VIP service fast-tracks you through immigration and security, offering a stress-free experience. Kick back and relax in style with complimentary food and drinks while waiting for your transport or flight. Be sure to book in advance as availability may be limited.

2. During Your Vacation in Jamaica

Weather & Climate: Jamaica enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round with average temperatures between 66–99°F. The island experiences two rainy seasons, May to June and September to November, with hurricane season starting on June 1 and ending on November 30. Though direct hurricane hits are rare, storms are possible during this time. For a rain-free trip, consider visiting outside rainy seasons and opt for "Cancel for Any Reason" travel protection for peace of mind.

Language: The official language of Jamaica is English, but locals often speak Patois, a vibrant dialect blending multiple languages. During your stay, you’re sure to pick up a few popular phrases!

Timezone: Jamaica falls within the Eastern Time Zone (UTC/GMT -5 Hours) and does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

3. Things to Do In Jamaica

Activities & Attractions: Although Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean it still packs a lot of exciting things to see and do into a small area. Start by scaling Blue Mountain Peak, the island's highest point at 7,402 feet, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a taste of world-famous Blue Mountain coffee. Then take a guided boat tour of the Black River where you’ll come face to face with crocodiles, waterbirds and if you’re lucky the elusive West Indian Manatee. Cap off your sightseeing with a refreshing trek up the 600-foot cascading waters of Dunn’s River Falls, featuring impressive boulders, natural whirlpools, and soothing jets of ice-cold spring water.

Looking for even more adventures? Well, Jamaica is full of them!  Jamaica’s all-inclusive resorts partner with trusted tour providers to offer a variety of excursions across the island. Always book through certified operators and avoid accepting rides from strangers to ensure a safe and memorable experience.

Jamaica All Inclusive Resorts: What You Need to Know

How much is an all inclusive trip to Jamaica?

Costs will vary depending on where you stay, when you travel, the duration of your vacation, and how many people are traveling with you. Keep in mind that peak travel seasons like winter and holidays are usually more expensive than off-season where discounts and deals are regularly offered.

All Inclusive packages usually include airfare and accommodations, dining,  and drinks but may also include things like resort transportation and on-site activities. An all-inclusive resort stay in Jamaica includes accommodations, all meals, snacks, and beverages (including alcohol), as well as access to on-site amenities like pools, fitness centers, and entertainment.
